Chris Taylor began playing guitar at the age of 13. One day, his guitar broke, so he took it to a recommended shop for repair. Unsatisfied with the results, he and his brother, Dave, began teaching themselves how to fix instruments. When friends started asking for help, they realized they could turn their hobby into a profession. Chris and Dave attended Luthiers School of the Rockies in Boulder, CO to became certified Luthiers, learning the technicalities of building and repairing guitars. Equipped with jigs, tools, and machines, they have repaired hundreds of stringed instruments including guitars, basses, mandolins, banjos, harps, violins, and ukuleles in their wood shop. The talented brothers of Emerald Bay Guitars and Ukuleles hand craft beautiful instruments from a variety of woods, with custom specifications available. The sound of their acoustic and electric instruments speak for themselves. Just pick one up to see for yourself!
